WHO WE ARE

Meet the
KH Engineering team

Jeff Koehler, PE, RCDD, PMP, LEED AP

Founder - President - Senior Electrical Engineer

Jeff Koehler brings more than 20 years of electrical engineering expertise to every project he touches — the kind that can only be earned through leading complex, mission-critical work in demanding environments. As President and Senior Electrical Engineer at KH Engineering, Jeff combines deep technical knowledge with hands-on leadership to deliver results for clients across a wide range of sectors.

Jeff’s design experience spans healthcare, high-rise residential, industrial, commercial, and education facilities, with a particular depth of expertise in U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs projects. From healthcare campuses requiring EHRM infrastructure upgrades and emergency power system replacements, to VISN-wide Facility Condition Assessments covering tens of millions of square feet, Jeff has served as Project Manager, Electrical Engineer of Record, and Electrical Assessor on dozens of VA projects nationwide.

Jeff also serves as a Major in the U.S. Army National Guard. As Force Engineer for AFRICOM, he directed all U.S. military engineer projects across the African continent — overseeing infrastructure, force protection, and construction involving multinational stakeholders and joint force operations. This military background sharpens his ability to lead under pressure, manage complex multi-party coordination, and execute on mission-critical objectives with precision.

Jeff brings to every project the discipline of a military officer, the rigor of a licensed professional engineer, and a genuine commitment to the veterans his work serves.

The KH Way:

Plan thoroughly. Communicate clearly. Execute professionally. Own the outcome.

Company Culture & Philosophy

KH Engineering is committed to building a culture where employees are trusted, challenged, and empowered to perform at their highest level.

  • People should be developed, not just managed.

  • Problems should be solved, not hidden.

  • Commitments should be honored.

  • Feedback should be welcomed.

  • Continuous improvement should be part of everyday work.

  • Success belongs to the team.

Our goal is to create an environment where engineers are proud of their work, clients trust our commitments, and every employee understands their contribution to the company's mission.

OUR MISSION

As a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, we are committed to serving our clients with responsive communication, innovative design, and an unwavering focus on quality while building lasting partnerships that improve the facilities supporting our nation's veterans and communities.

CORE VALUES:

Integrity

We do the right thing—even when no one is watching. Integrity is the foundation of every decision we make. We provide honest recommendations, maintain transparency with our clients, honor our commitments, and hold ourselves accountable to the highest ethical standards.

Quality

Excellence is our standard, not our goal. Every drawing, specification, and calculation represents our reputation. We strive to deliver technically sound, coordinated, and constructible designs that exceed client expectations while minimizing project risk.

Teamwork

Great engineering is built through collaboration. Successful projects require cooperation among clients, architects, contractors, and engineers. We foster an environment of mutual respect, open communication, and shared responsibility to achieve the best outcomes.

Continuous Improvement

We never stop learning. Engineering, technology, and building systems continually evolve. We embrace professional development, lessons learned, innovation, and emerging technologies to improve both our designs and our business processes.

Accountability

We own every project from start to finish. Inspired by military leadership principles, we take responsibility for our commitments, communicate openly, and follow through on every promise. We believe accountability builds trust and delivers successful projects.
